Active Duty Project (pics)

I'm a closet leather bender if you can't tell....:D

Hey, keep that stuff in the bedroom where it belongs. Post reported. :D :p :p :p

sketchbag, I like the way you pushed the scales forward of the talon hole.

For the record, I dind't report sketchbag. PG misunderstood my post. I did edit my post and explained how I feel.

I like the looks a bunch. Kinda tactical with the Black Micarta shape and color. Did you use any epoxy to affixe the handles besides just using the bolts?

I have this distinct feeling that if there were some uppity muslims or scientologists on this forum crying foul about every little thing they took exception too, they wouldnt be getting the same satisfaction. I know this is a private forum and free speech doesnt apply, but people still need to get it through their heads that in a free country you don't have the right to not be offended.

Heavy, I considered dying it, but that would require going to the store, just dont got the time. Right now it has some mink oil on it.

I like how the handle worked out with the extended scales covering the talon hole, can really choke up and get close to the edge for finer work this way.

The scales arent epoxied at this point, once I'm fully satisfied that I wont be doing anymore work on this baby they'll get epoxied and maybe tube riveted. Speaking of which, where can i get stainless tubes to do that?

I too was offended on a couple levels, how does taking the Lords name in vane fit into this  Nice knife but it kinda got lost in the translation :thumbdn:

I thought we were not supposed to take HIS NAME in vain. Taking it in vane is probably okay depending on the weather. and taking HIS name in vein is always a rush
All the same nice work on the knife. Hozanna and Hallelulagaghhahaha
On a serious note I think the mods have done quite a good job keeping this forum fun and interesting without being overly offensive, Good Job Mads, I mean Mods

But by your own admission, isn't that last sentence a false analogy? That is, a private forum is not the same as a free country. Part of what the moderators do here in this private forum is try to keep offense at a minimum. And the moderators in the Busse subforum are a fantastic bunch who do a great job for no pay and little recognition.

Every subforum here has its own distinctive discourse. I've ruffled feathers in a few spots now and then, and I'm sure I've toed the line here at this subforum with my tongue in cheek. Given all the crap that I've aimed at PG in the past year, good-natured ribbing though it be, I'm surprised I'm still posting.

You'll find that most guys here realize that posts shouldn't be taken as life-and-death serious (unless they are explicitly about life-and-death events). That said, many of the posters on this board are practicing Christians, thus it just makes sense to give them (including me) some respect. I think, for the most part, we all try to abide by the rules, both written and unwritten, as we come across them.

I also think folks are doing their best to make you feel welcome here while at the same time reminding you that there are boundaries that we don't cross in this subforum. I, for one, am glad to see someone posting with the skills at modification that your first post reflects.

One thing I like about the extended scales on your knife is that they allow a closer grip on a blade without a functional choil.

I was looking and I don't think I found an appropriate venue for this topic on Blade Forums.

Whine and Cheese says it's not a forum for questioning moderators. Politics states that racism isn't allowed and religion is just as hot a topic. The Pirates Cove would just bury it under a pile of nudie pics which I think is a really good place for this topic but that wouldn't really foster a discussion.

I have talked about this off line with guys but I'll have to say it here. Progunner has been a great guy to have taken all the crap I (and a few others) have given him since Blade 07 and he never once came back at me with any kind of "real" power trip. And his work as a Mod is very light footed.

Well wait:eek:  he could be asking for something in his prayers that I don't know about.

But anyway I think it is cool that Garth will etch his custom NICKS... "Princess 07"

Thanks Tony, I think. Garth is etching what where?

it certainly is. and they certainly do.

this is a private forum, and we do have an expectation of not being offended, except when visiting w&c.. (i dont use the word "right" because i feel it does not apply).

i was not offended by the verbage, but can understand why others would be.

I still feel bad that I DQ'ed Hammy from my contest on a technicality. I have since tried to send him a Leatherman prize anyway, but he'll have no part of it. Not in a PO'ed way, but in a "Yeah, I should have read the rules closely" way.

These guys are top-notch.
