ACTIVE SHOOTER Bag?!??

BTW, i dont know too many criminals that study the bag types that LEO's wear..........have never heard of criminals saying "hey that dude has the Maxped active shooter bag man....he must be a cop........


just saying...99.99999% of the population has no fricking clue about what a "active shooter bag: looks like

If your not in uniform why would you be toting an active shooter bag?

one does not need to be a LEO to take advantage of WELL MADE GEAR :)

for example i own a battle ready chest rig set up for wilderness survival use, , a drop leg EOD pouch, set up for long distance off road running events, a sniper rifle pack (for carrying my fishing gear) etc etc etc etc etc etrc etc

think outside the box!

An active shooter is a specific situation. I can see this is going to be the new tactical. Oh well if it carries what you need comfortable that’s all that matters. Is that a waist belt or a way to hook it to you belt in the pic. I actually like a single shoulder strap I just hate stuff flopping around when I have to move.
 
both a shoulder and waist belt. You can run with that bag and it doesn't move.

yes I am aware that An active shooter is a specific situation. And that an "active shooter bag" is for a very specific purpose. However its a free country and MANY bag makers market such bags to EVERYONE. If the MAN does not want the SERFS to have such items, perhaps they best ban them.

coming from the LE side everybody is getting the idea of an active shooter bag. you can talk to fifty different LE officer and get fifty different answer on what should / shouldnt be in the bag. with that being said this is what is in my rig, 3 30rnd AR mags, two sets of flex cuffs , one truma kit , two to three cemlites, two pistol mags and a box of 223 and 40 . the bag is an old range bag that ive taken into the local leather shop and had some work done to it .

just to further elaborate why would i tote an active shooter bag if I'm not an LEO......

- its just a bag, an inanimate object that holds stuff.
- there is no law that says i cannot tote said bag
- its sold publicly, not only to LEO's but to EVERYONE
- its nice to be organized in the woods. An active shooter bag like maxped's is perfect for woods gear
- maybe i'm going hunting or target shooting. Again, its nice to be organized in the woods. An active shooter bag like maxped's is perfect for woods gear/ammo
- I like the fact i can fit 2 powerbars per large mag pocket. Or three glosticks. Or two garbage bags. Or a folder, steel, piece of fatwood, pencil etc in said mag pouches
- camera lenses fit in nicely in the main and front compartment
- the velcro interior allows me to add pouches or more mag pouches, for even greater organization.
- ITS A FREE COUNTRY. I have the freedom to buy high quality gear thats publicly available and no one can squawk at me about my purchases.
- maxpeds active shooter bag is not a "good ol boys' police only bag.
- I think outside the box and adapt things to suit my needs.

not an attack, just some thoughts on the subject:)
 
The paranoia is getting a little thick. It's just a bag. You can call it a Bag Of Evil, an Active Shooter Bag, whatever you want; it's still just a bag. You can call the knife you put in it a tactical knife; it's still just a knife. I call my bag a messenger bag, but guess what? I'm not a messenger. I've never been a messenger, never even taken a course on how to be a messenger ... I have no messenger training certificate.... :cool:

Ya I am an LEO. I could really care less what kind of bag you carry. The only remote issue I have is with the name. It implies one thing and one thing only.

Just to expand on an earlier post criminals do pay attention to what cops use but more importantly some LEOs actually do try to keep up with current trends. Seeing a bag that is obliviously made to hold rifle and pistol mags is going to raise my level of suspicion. That might be something you should consider when you want to buy some newest piece of industrial nylon. Like I said earlier the term “active shooter” is going to be the new “tactical” its gona be a fad and then there will be another one. After seeing a bunch of these fads and even taking part in some it is just another piece of kit that may or may not work long term.

On one other thing you keep talking about is your free country and how you can buy some nylon, that’s great. I live in Arizona; you can walk around here with a pistol on your hip whenever you want. Just has to be visible from 3 sides. Drive around with a gun on you car seat, it’s legal. Let me know when you can do that where you are at.

i'm still waiting for Vancouver Police to screech up and grill me for carrying an "active shooter bag". At the recent police (family) party i wore it. Not one question or look form over 70 officers.

its just a bag. Most people think its a camera bag. Hell the Ranger today at the park said hi and asked if i was heading to the bluffs to shoot pictures. As we left he said nice camera bag, who makes that?

its really a non issue.

as for wearing and driving around with firearms, thats not the topic at hand. :)

I'm not an LEO, nor am I someone who needs that particular set up day in and day out. I guess I can see the use for one, but it still seems a bit...pursey?

My shooting bag cost me $14 at Lowes. It's a double zippered nylon tool bag that carries 2 or 3 handguns, muffs, glasses, and a couple boxes of ammo. It has side pockets on the inside where cleaning solution and oil will ride upright. Works for me:)

I've thought about a messenger bag, but to be honest, besides my gun I wouldn't have anything else to carry in it:confused:
