Just for grins, I'd box it up and send it back to Sog see if they send you a new one.
Hey I put a cheap tasco 3X9 on top of a single shot 50 cal. ( 50 BMG) needless to say the recoil jared the lenses inside loose. Sent it back got a new one, you never know.

I second that idea - seems to me that SOG would be interested to know what broke that knife.
