How is your area recovering from the Hurricane from last year? How's P-cola? I have a daughter that I need to start getting introduced to history!

Well.. everything takes a lot longer than you think.

Here's a link to our local paper: it has links to galleries of the damage and a lot of other stuff.

In the "Day 1" thread at the end I just mentioned a prob we're having going into the season again.

Email me for more; I'm at work. :(

I have an interesting perspective on this as I am a survivor of 1994's category five Hurricane Andrew, which the struck the south Miami area where I was living at the time. Few Americans (Camille & Andrew) have been through cat 5's.

Been through 2 100-year storms, somehow. My Cursed luck!

Best,
Ad Astra

My buddy lived on an island off P'cola (rented), now he lives on my couch. He's fortunate to be a telecommuter, but the island got STOMPED, couldn't even drive out to his place for months. Glad your back in your digs and things are normalizing for you.

Thanks, Yahminin for taking in a refugee... Beach people mostly lost everything. Most left a house, came back to norhing...

Ad Astra :(

Live & Learn. The insurance industry will be wiped out with a major city hit.

Too, New Orleans and the Florida Keys are eventually doomed. See 'em while you can! I may sound pessimistic, but in reality it is just a matter of time. People love the water too much and builders & lawmakers don't respect it enough.
