Ad Contest

A couple of thing that I see in one of the ads is the size is not proportinal to what the RULES STATED. Also, some folks are using low-res photos from our web site (training photos) and I'm just wondering how they plan to submit the high-res ad should their ad win.

I hate editing text and pictures. Still a work in progress.

No way this even gets close to being proportional to the finished ad size. I don't want full res posted here but it needs to be proportional to what the rules stated.

One other thing. If you are using someone else's photos for the ad, do you have proper releases to use their photos?

As you might remember, my wife and I were going to show you some other design options before there even was a contest. Win, lose or draw I think we have done that by providing you some great concepts to look at.

In one ad we used some low-rez images from your site to help show a different idea. The images were used to show a bit of a different theme.

It would be cool if we have a winner in one of the ones we put up. If not we had fun making them and hopefully you see something that inspires your next ad.

Understood and appreciated. However, we have to have certain ad sizes and we have to be able to have these in full-res should they win. Most of the photos from our web site are low-res and will end up pixelating once they go to high-res. So, the ad contest is for finished product except the contestant is only posting a low-res version. In other words, if we pick your ad then you will have to be able to provide us with a finished high-res version without changing the overall looks, size, etc.

Unfortunately, at this time photos from your site are all we were able to use to show the concepts.

Not trying to be a jackass here but the ad contest is for finished product. My point being if we pick your ad then we want the high-res to be exactly as the ad we choose. Make sense?

Jeff have you got a link to the pictures you took last jungle outing? I remember seeing a bunch of high res ones that I cant find on the website. Trying to find the one of the guides beat up rc-3

My first entry used a background image that was not copyright free. I thought I blurred it enough to not make a difference but if that doesn't fly here is another entry using a background that is 100% copyright free.

I thought this was pretty much open to if and when Jeff saw an ad that he liked/met the requirements.

If that was the case this thread would have (should have) been named "Ad submissions"...."contest" denotes, well...a competition between artists....which one would assume has an end date and a final judgment between the entries.

I hope I didn't waste my time energy and money. I've been having to look at this thread every day for the last 2 months...I'd like to be able to come to some conclusion with this thing.

You've made a great entry so it wasn't a waste of time imho.

It is a competition. A competition between every person that submits something that fits the bill for what Jeff was looking for. If none of them are what he's looking for there can't be much of a winner. You have to remember an ad that goes in a magazine is a representation of ESEE and the business Mike and Jeff have built. Their call. In the shelter contest, one of the first rules was if no one built anything that made the cut, there was no winner.
