Add some grip to the g10 Grip's g10 grips?

I posted this in the Benchmade forum yesterday, which resulted in a resounding chorus of chirping crickets, so...

I'm (not so patiently) waiting for a 556bk-1 to pop up on the exchange, and in the meantime I'm considering the scales.
I had a first production satin 556-1 and got rid of it because I didn't like the "first production" printed on the blade, wanted to hold out for a bk version, and thought the handles lacked traction.

Has anybody modded their Griptilian-1 g10 handles to add a little more grip?
What'd you do? Sandpaper? Sandblast? Some other technique I never thought of?
If nobody's done it, does anyone have any thoughts on the best way to do it?

You could dremel grooves or other patterns onto it, just make sure you wear a respirator

I have a 551-BK and agree that the scales don't seem as "grippy" as I hoped they'd be when I first heard about the knife. When you compare the texture of the standard Grip to the -1 Grips, the biggest difference to me is how the relief is cut into the handle. The plastic handles are much more defined. Maybe the best way to add some grip to your -1 Grip would be to etch out the pattern lines a little deeper? I'm not sure what kind of tool you'd use, you could almost use a triangular file maybe. Just be sure you want to do it and wear a respirator!

On a side note, have you ever handled an H&K Mini Axis? It's just a bit smaller than a 556 but has the same Axis lock. It has a wonderful, grippy G10 that might scratch the itch without modding a knife.
