Added a new grinder to my belt grinder guide. Any thoughts?

I went ahead and ordered one from him the other day(pheer) guess I'll be giving yall a report here in about 3 weeks or so....I told him about this forum and I think some of yall got orders in before I could get my money together....dablame me...screwed myself again!:) Keep in mide what I hve to compare it to....HF 1 X 30..I'm sure it will be an upgrade!

Im excited to hear about it Phillip because I'm probably going to order one in a few weeks....keep us posted

I'm in the same boat, this is about what I can afford to spend and it will be a significant upgrade if it doesn't have significant problems. I'm still on the fence a bit but really tempted to go ahead with it, I just want some hands on knife maker feed back first. I'm not concerned with things like the VFD and which motor, but the actual build and how it works in practice. Lots of stuff sounds good or bad on paper but in practice it's very different.
Just for giggles I went and priced out my initial belt order if I do upgrade. Ouch. On the other hand, I'll get more life out of the belts and it's not like most of them are that much more than my current 2x42's.

I got my belt grinder from Pheer this week. It is awesome. Go to his grinders page mine is the one with the 4x8 flipping platen. It is exactly what I asked for. The one on the website is the one he built for me. It's easy to adjust from flat grinding to hollow grinding. The 1 hp has more than enough power and the tracking is great. He was a good guy to deal with and the price was unbeatable.
