Bryant, my shop is a portion of the garage measuring 13" X 18". I still need a mill in there and a few other things but If you take into account that I have a water heater and an air exchanger it could be enough but I am talking about a real minimum and organization is critical and time consuming.
What I am trying to say is that if there is not much difference between 12X24 and 12X30, go for the large size. A separate room for separating crap producing processes and cleaner ones is something I will surely have someday and the larger space may allow you to do that.
