adding a hard wire cutter to the Squirt

Has anyone tried drilling the wire cutter on the Squirt P4 toward to back to add a hard wire cutter to it? Do you think this would work?

No, haven't tried it, but I don't think it would work well.

While moving the hole back towards the pivot would increase your leverage, if the edges aren't properly hardened all that leverage will do is wreck the jaws that much faster. If you, say, double the force applied to the wire to be cut, you're also doubling the forces on the cutter, too.

If I cut hard wire, I use a much heavier cutter. I have broken two M/Ts cutting wire. One was the Jaw and the other was chipped bad.
