adding a name or logo on a blade

what the best way to do this? We're planning to add a rather intricate logo onto a blade and it will be around .5 inches by .5 inches. the design as some thin lines and I don't think it'll be possible to stamp it on the blade during the forging process.

A laser etching shop I talked said they can do it but it will fade over time from use.

So what do you recommend?

Use an electro etcher with a DC etch and it wont wear off, but you can get a nice complex design and a clear etch with good equipment and a good stencil.

I agree, go with a stencil. I get mine from IMG Electromark and have been really happy with them.
