The Hardcore Grinder guys at the Blade Show told me that I could add a VFD to my existing 110V motor on my grinder.
Does anyone have any input on how?

The only way I know is if you have a 3-phase 220 motor. Some VFD's will allow you to run a 3ph/220 motor off of 110, but the motor still needs to be 3ph/220.

You can try one of these. Obviously from the title guys with 110v routers use them. I offer no guarantees though!

Not going to work for a typical grinder motor, only brushed type motors.

It would be really nice if there was an inexpensive speed control that would work with a single phase motor, as it would give you the ability to build a grinder with a single phase motor and add speed control later without having to switch to a 3 phase motor. In all my research prior to building my 2x72, I never heard of such an animal.

I just checked with an electrician buddy who does VFDs and he confirmed that it can't be done.
Thanks
