adhesives.. thinking outside the box

I'm convinced, but it does look like the tape would show a line between the tang and scale.

Hmm could be fun for pinless scales. Wonder how hard it is to cut if you wanted a paticular shape. Seems like it would just stick to whatever was cutting it

That's some pretty tough tape!! I assume it probably comes with a film backing and you could cut out your necessary shape before peeling it off to expose the adhesive. Just a guess, haven't checked the facts yet.

It would be very cool to play with this stuff, especially for inlays.
 
I've never used it in knifemaking, but I have used it in other areas.

There is a layer of wax-paper like material the glue sticks to, so you can peel off a length and put it on the part; at this stage, you can trim off any large excess with scissors. You then pull off the wax-paper layer to leave behind just the glue. At this stage, the small bits that hang over the edges, such as corners in a complex inley, can be removed by hand.

I think I'm going to try it for knives.
