I recently snagged a Mini-Adira and I was wondering if its intended use in and around water, means that more than just the blade is specifically more rust resistant, namely the omega springs. Are the springs on the Water line a different material from the springs on the other Axis Lock based knives? I imagine that if rust set in, on an Omega Spring, it might spell the end of the spring fairly quickly. I can't say that I've ever noticed any rust on an omega spring, but I'm curious.

Have any of you folks heard anything?

The omega springs on the Adira line are stainless steel as opposed to plated music wire. This doesn't make them rust proof, just more resistant to rust. If you plan on swimming in salt water all the time with the Adira you will still fight some problems with rust. In fresh water it should do much better.

Thanks for the quick response! I don't really plan on swimming with it at all, but maybe in a pinch. Just curiosity. :)

Is there going to be something comparable eventually down the line you think comparable to the Spydie Salt?

Once you are done using it in/around salt water just rinse it off with fresh water and you should be fine,
