Adjustable tension on a Delica 4?

I just received my delica 4 foliage and it is very stiff to open, and a bit gritty. I washed it in hot soapy water and a soft bristle brush very well, then used some canned air to dry it which helped with the grittyness. I used a drop of gun oil on the pivot point and open / closed the blade about 30 or so times. Still stiff. Can't really open it easily one handed.

My question is in the title, it looks like the largest of the fasteners can just be loosened a bit and the friction will be freed up a bit to allow easier opening.

Am I on the right track or not?

I have one of those foliage green G10 FFG delicas. Mine is much stiffer to open than my wave delica. Loosening up the pivot screw did help. I have been tempted to straighten out the spring a bit to loosen it up but have been afraid to get that radical.

Try loosening up the first post screw by the pivot. That helps sometimes too.

Don't loosen it very much though.

idk if this could be the same problem as i have on my rock lobster, but could the g10 be rubbing against the blade? my rock lobster does that, so i had to loosen the stop pin a little.

*nevermind. forgot the delica4 has liners.
just got my delica 4 yesterday in the mail. it felt gritty to open so i took it apart and cleaned everything. opens good now... but the problem is i don't have any lube :(

Same thing here... the G10 Delica is NOT smooth at all, way harder to open than my other delicas. Sent it back to Spyderco to have them look at it. Will let ya know what they say.

Problems were/are; stripped head on first screw, pivot pin all the way out, still super stiff and for the first time, I got a Spydie with an uneven, poorly finished blade. By the hole there is a dark area that almost looks like burns?

Yes, it was new and not marked as a second. I'm sure they'll take care of it.
