I haven't had any problems with steel from them as of yet but I've never used 52100 so I just wanted to make sure this is good stuff to make knives with. Crazy price like not even $2.00 a pound.
I have used it with good results. If you check out McMaster-Carr they have larger diameters for good prices also. Though I have not priced it lately, the last time I bought some it was $90 for a 6' length of 1.5" dia material. I like the larger diameters since it gives me more material for wider blades.
