I am considering trying Admiral's 8670M, I will be using stock removal to make blades.
If you have tried this steel, how did it do, how good of a blade will it make?
And please give specifics on heat treating and tempering.
I have a heat treating furnace but do not have access to cryo treatment.

I got some (Admiral sold it then as L-6)
I used it with 1080 as the bright stripes in damascus, 1490f soak for 20 minutes (after matching temp with the kiln that has already reached equilibrium )
then quench in 130f oil, temper 3 times 1 hour at 400f worked for me
