Hello!

What is your experience with anodized aluminium color durability on handles, for example LionSteel got them, and I was looking at Protech TR3 aluminium models? How quickly/easily they can wear off for EDC or time-to-time usage?

Thanks a lot!

I'd think if it's truly anodized color, it should last a long while. I've seen one very, very CHEAP folding knife, with what appeared to be sort of a 'rainbow' anodized finish on it. Turns out, it was a plated finish. The knife was one that a plumber had left underneath my house. It had laid in mud (created by the leak he fixed) for a week or two, before I found it. The plated 'faux anodized' finish basically started peeling off the plain aluminum handles. Ugly.

It depends on how deep they ano the finish and whether or not its a hard anodize or std anodize. We typically ano our parts (@ McLeod Racing) 2mm deep and we can go 5mm on hard ano. Regular ano is just like dipping Easter eggs with a current running through the solution.
