Adrenaline....!

I use an old nail set punch that I rounded and polished. Tap tap tap tap...etc. All surfaces need to have a nice clean finish before starting....after the thousands and thousands of taps the flats will need to be cleaned up and re-flattened.

I have been thinking about the big butt on my knife.... I have a theory. I feel that knife supply companies don't really have a clue what they make handle scales and blocks for. They are ALWAYS too small! Some are smart and cut blocks with one end wider than the other which means you can actually use it for something other than a dagger. I have some blocks of iron wood...normal size blocks that you get from any supply co. ...I can hardly even get one of my hunter handles out of them! So...what I'm saying is....you have been pre conditioned to see small knife handles because of the materials at hand. People tend to work around materials they have. I like to buy boards or large blocks to cut my handles from...that way I get what I want. I am in no way trying to degrade your guys opinions...just something I was thinking about.
Would like to hear other makers input on this.

I agree, plus it's usually cut cockeyed, so by the time you straighten it out you're a 1/4" less than you thought you would be.

I keep singing "Baby's got back!"

I like the handle. It looks comfortable. Mark Farley is the man for "oversized" blocks.
