ads with sound

Or you could turn your speakers off. Problem solved!

This may be isolated to me, but I'm occasionally getting the audio from ads while logged in. The video itself doesn't show up, but the sound comes through. Sometimes multiple streams with no way to kill 'em. No biggie. Just kind of annoying.

Kiah, we already knew you had a few wires crossed.

Probably more than a few.

Anyways, I cleared my cache after viewing BFC without logging in a few days ago and it seems to have stopped now. Musta just been my browser holding onto the code or something.

Maybe just a few particularly loud ads. :p

Yeah, I find my system works better if I just shut it off every couple of days.

I'm getting ads with sound as well. VERY VERY annoying. I guess my membership has ran out. I'd be glad to pay the $10/yr, even if it weren't for getting rid of the obnoxious ads. I just want to be sure that if I pay it they will go away. Is that true?

OK, I'm an idiot.

Started getting the sound from ads again while logged in. Realized that it was coming from my email client. It has a built in browser and I had BFC open in it without being logged in. Mystery solved.

If the ads annoy you and your cheap ass doesnt wanna pay up, go elsewhere! Sorry long day!
That is just what I did when Knifeforums started these types of ads. I find myself reading alot fewer threads now that these ads are playing and everytime one of these sound ads play I consider staying away from BFC as well. Pretty sure there are more than a few that feel the same way. BTW my cheap a** has supported these forums with more than just money ever since the first week it started. And when ever I find a new web site and these types of ads are on it I never return. I'm guessing ads like this really prevent or slow down new memberships. Hope they are worth it in the long run.

Damb thing even ran after I edited my post. Unbeleivable.

Seriously guys, what millennium are you in? Are you still running Netscape 4.0 on Windows '95? Get with the times!

Granted, I completely understand if you wish to support BFC by clicking the ads, but what do you do on the rest of the internet? Ads have to download. Block ads, and they don't download. That means much faster page loads. No more teeth whitening or trimming belly fat secrets. No more Snorgtees. No more Evony or World of Warcraft. No more car insurance, credit scores, or cell phone ads. Not to mention less risk of malware when visiting those websites of "ill repute".

Honestly, with what's so easily available for free for everybody, I just can't have any sympathy for people who complain about ads. It's like having TiVO or a DVR, but still sitting through commercials. While I'm impressed that you get such a good internet connection in that cave ya'll are living in, it's time to get out of that cave.

Adblocker works great. I'd consider paying a $10 membership fee mainly because I'm curious to see what goes on in the cove, but from what I can tell the cheapest option available to non-us people is $30.

If you're in Canada you might be able to get the automated membership system to accept a card. If you have more than one credit/debit card try them all. Some Canadian cards do have address verification.

What is this "cove" of which you speak?

When I realized how much time I spent "recreating" on BF, I bought a membership. I like to pay my way. That was long before any ads.
