ive looked at swat knives and advanced tech knives and they look the same are they the same company
 
Yes. S(pecialized)W(eapons) by A(dvanced)T(echnologies). Do you still need your question on the BM to SWAT comparison answered? or did you search give you enough info? If not, ask away.
 
I've found it to be well made and really easy to carry. Weighs almost nothing. As a defensive weapon, aside from the thinness of the blade, that 5" reach is awesome. Choke down on the butt of the handle, and the tip is about 7" away for some serious slicing advantage. It flips well, but a little slow because of the handle length.

I got some of Clay's kydes sheaths for it, and highly recommend them.
