Advantages of Warncliffe Blade

They are my favorite for EDC. This one is a slightly modified Warnie that I carry every day. Mike

I usually hang out in the Traditional forum, but I heard about this thread and thought I had something to add.

Here's Eddie White's latest creation, and my latest knife:

ShadowKnivesXI001.jpg

6-3/4" overall, 3-3/4" handle of sheephorn, 3" blade of 440C.

This is his first Wharncliff, on my request. I highly recommend him. www.Shadowknives.com.

I love Wharncliffs! Started with the Case Seahorse Whittler, and I haven't looked back.

This is a new model I will have at the Blade show. It is a self lock.

Warrencliffe blades really are usefull for everyday. You don't get the edge slipage that sometimes occurs with curved edges, and the tip is so easy to use. I like a modified warrencliffe with just a slight curve to the edge. About like an upside down drop point.

Forgive the ignorant question here, but when you guys are talking about an edge with a slight curve, are you talking about a edge curving upward towards the spine or downward away from the spine. I think it's the latter, but just want to be sure.

Chris

Chris, I like to think as away from the spine as curve (or belly), and towards the spine as re-curve.

I really like wharncliffe blades, they are so useful for so many things. Here are a couple of mine, I'd like to have more:

The first one is a BRK&T TUSK. The second is a custom by Ray Laconico.
