I must admit that my presence has been a bit reduced around here lately. This is simply because I have been out of range from regular city type of living. I actually like that to some extent. I always think of how important it is for people to do what they love, in life and in play. I have the privilege of doing two things that I consider, the love of my life. One is, play music for a living and the other is obviously, the great outdoors. I have been doing both for years now but more recently started to them on a greater level. I feel very fortunate to be able to do both with my time. After all, there is nothing more important than time to me. I know I could always make more money but time is impossible to get back. So rather than sit and talk about the same topics and tools I’ve been using, I have decided to do more and talk a little less. I will be leaving yet again on another adventure for the South Pacific to play music and play in the outdoors. I will be playing drums at night and spending the days and nights in nature. I feel that the experiences of going to places not so typical are the best ways to know the world around me. Like learning any new style of music reading and seeing pictures are not enough for me, it must be experienced entirely. I always feel the need to do things as authentically as possible. Talking about knives and gear can sometimes make as much sense to me as dancing about architecture. I would rather try to go live it as much as possible and see for myself. Knives and all other sharp pointy things are really such a small part of the entire outdoors experience and I really like to capture those things that don’t make it into knife reviews/articles. That is the real adventure to me! There is so much that is experienced and felt from a long drive, airplane, bus, boat, or cab ride. People, sights, sounds, smells and of course, the food can often have the biggest meaning and hold the most value in our overall feeling of the place we visit. Sometimes I feel the memories are so strong they no longer are just simple memories but a part of my life. In everything I do I hope there is a bigger meaning than the words on any forum or in any magazine. Thanks everyone for all your support over the years.

A very special thanks to the RAT Team (Mike, Jeff) your friendship and influence will forever guide me!

G'day Reuben

Doing is always more fun than talking about it :D

Good luck with whatever the future brings

Kind regards
Mick

We all need to have our batteries re-charged now and again. Sounds like you just had yours replaced. Keep going bear and enjoy your adventures while the opportunities are there.

Like that Kenny Rogers song - 'There'll be time enough for talk'n when the dealing's done'

That's a load of malarky! Everyone knows that that sitting ;)behind a computer and talking about it is where it's at! ;)

Good on you Reuben!

I sacrificed a good part of my single life just trying to get laid instead of pursuing adventure.

Even if your writing down your reviews and adventures may seem less important, believe me, I love reading it! People writing and showing pictures of outdoor adventures helps me slog through a day at a desk.

right on Reuben... good luck bro... once again, have safe travels and be safe...:)

Bear,

Don't come back often - but do come back to post pictures. I think you are on the right path.

I don't want to see you 'round these parts too much! :)

The past is history, the future is a mystery but the time we have, now, is a gift... that is why it is called "the present". (Master Oogway.... KFP)

Why be a "human being" when you can be a "human doing"... right?..... cheers bro!!

I like how Rick put it.
Be safe and we'll hear (read) from you when you're ready.

Be sure to come back and share some of your fun once in a while for those that don't get out much. I always enjoy seeing pictures and reading about people's trips during a long school week, especially when the workload is heavy and the weather is poor and my best outdoor adventure for two weeks is walking to class in the rain.

Have a good time bear.

Thanks all. I sent a few PMs to a few friends today to say that everything is cool! I was just trying to get across why I haven't been on so much and may not be on so much for a while. I think some people got the wrong idea and that may be my fault. It is not a last thread type of thing at all. I enjoy and love writing for the magazines and forums, just gonna be living it a little more thats all.
