Advice for my new DMT DiaSharp?

My first DMT DiaSharp (continuous surface) C/XC combo is coming soon. Is it best to use water: For sharpening? For flattening waterstones? Does lapping waterstones cause wear and tear on the DMT? Any help/advice will be appreciated.
 
DMT recommends that their hones be lubricated with water, and only water. As long as you use very light pressure, lapping other stones should not cause wear on the diamond hones. Using a lot of pressure can abrade the matrix used to secure the diamonds to the base plate, and/or cause the diamonds to cut their way out of said matrix, shortening the life of the hone.
