...steel wise isn't cold steel D2 better?

About the famous ka-bar USMC...here is very expensive (same price of the above...80-90 euro)....

Of course if there are other fighting knives i didn't consider feel free to suggest! I just like plain edge and pommell buttcap.
....
About intended use for that fighting knife: i would keep it mainly at home or for light outdoor tasks.

Yes, d2 is supposedly a better steel.
steep, for the kabar is a simple carbon knife.
I would have gotten a Glock field knife to toy with.
But quite honestly no one knife is ever going to be enough.
Guess we all have yearning for something spectacular
To excite us terribly...

Ok. I ordered Ontario Freedom Fighter FF6...because i've found a discount offer and the price was good.
I've thought some days about Cold Steel Leatherneck...Really i CAN'T look at that handle logo. I know a knife is an instrument and not a fashion dress, but...I prefer a more "elegant" approack like the ka-bar stamp printed on the blade.

I've also considered, for just 10 euro more, the Ka-bar 1271...But really i don't like serrations (in case i need a little saw, i always have a multitool).
Ok, now i will have to prepare myself for my wife's complaining about knives:
"What are you going to do with all those knives? we live in a civilized world, we don't need those, bla bla bla"
"But what's the purpose to sharpen a knife so much? just to tell your friends it is sharp?"
Those quotes are really hers :-D

EDIT: if you're curious, Ontario FF6 in USA costs about half the price :-(

Take a look at Steel Will fixed blades. they have a bunch and I will vouch for their quality. They have different steels and styles. They are also very tough knives. I have a few of their folders and the Apostate could easily fill the need for a very tough knife and be a folder.
