Advice from those more experienced sellers

Yep, that would work. But I'm too lazy, especially when I got enough feedback that it looks fine. If everyone said it looks stupid, that would be a different story.

Thanks all

My feedback would be to thin it to 2/3 dimensions in height and width. It looks a bit fat to me, but the proportions are nice.

If the handle was this size, it would be great (from my perspective, which is at odds with your original vision.)

Or maybe more like this, proportionally.

Same with the aeb-l knife we have. It’s holding up very well. 15n20 performs like non stainless aeb-l in my experience. Similar edge stability, edge holding, wear resistance.

I’ll probably have to re-do the handle as it’s still shifting, but we love that knife! I suspect the ipe was still a bit green when you put it on. It’s normally very stable.
Yeah, sorry about that. I'm just glad you let me know. I haven't used it since .

I had some padauk that was like that. Supposedly kiln dried, ready to use. I’ve let it sit for 18 months after noticing it check, and have now started using it.

No concerns on my end. When I’m sending a knife to a different climate, I use stabilized wood, or very stable wood that I’m sure is fully cured, and finished really well.

Lesson learned. I think Ipe must take a long time to dry because it's so dense. I checked it with a meter, and it was under 8% after you contacted me I cut a block in half and it was 14% inside while 6% on the exterior.

Wonderful knife regardless. It’s used daily.

:) Well said, Warren. Believe it or not, it's already done (width-wise, but not height) because the more I handled it, it was feeling a bit fat to me. I'll try to get some pics posted tomorrow.
