Advice needed for bushcraft knife

Of the 2 I believe the Cold Steel has better overall edge geometry and measures up very closely to the Fallkniven F1.. It should make a fine bushcrafty type blade.

I know it will not rust away, but I prefer more little more stain resistance. I think a stainless steel blade is the one for me. I am much in the wet terrain. I fish a lot. My demands have actually changed after reading trough this forum. I thought I could get a all in one knife. But I was wrong. If I was going to buy a knife exclusively for bushcraft where weight and size didn´t matter, I would buy a RC-4 or even bigger. Those Rats are tuff as nails for sure (knifetest.com). But so are Fallkniven! Unbelieveble.

So what Im looking for now is a knife for wilderness and fishing. Which I do most of the time. For bushcraft I will still be carrying my axe ;)

Why not consider the Fallkniven F1? That has served me well on all kinds of bushcraft related work.

Or wait a couple of weeks and get the Spyderco UK Bushcraft knife

Just had a chat with someone that own a CS Master Hunter. That knife ended up in the drawer...

I like Spyderco. Do you have any images of the new Spyderco UK Bushcraft knife?

There's a picture on my site as well (www.spydie.nl).

The Fallkniven F1 looks very similair to the CS, but is much higher regarded within the Bushcraft community. Next to Mora's, it's probably the production model you'll be most likely to find on a bushcrafter.

I own a CS master hunter and love it, but as previously stated its more of a survival type knife, will take any abuse you throw at it, takes a very good edge and retains it moderately well, I use it more as a backup knife to my mora 510.

I don´t like the sheath on Fallkniven. But the knife it self is very nice and durable. But CS is very simlar and cheaper. I also like the sheath on the CS. I´m more worried about the blade on the CS.

I thought I would inform you about which knife I decided to go with. I decided to go with Fallkniven F1. Thank you for all your help. I appreciate it :)

That seems like a high quality and versatile choice. I was just about to chime in with a comment about thinking carefully about what you are really going to be doing with the knife, but the F1 is pretty close to a do-it-all.

You made a very good choice, the F1 is an excellent knife for what you are looking for.
