Advice needed if I should return my sebenza

It could be fine at 90%.

Again, take it down as they suggest, don't be afraid. Reassemble it like a sandwich, lying with the clip side down, one component at a time. Watch the video!

If you cannot tighten the pivot (using both keys simultaneously) down to the point that the pivot screws are flush with the sides of the scales (no gap between the two materials, while being careful not to be overly crank it down too tightly) and it still will not open easily, then send it back.

When it returns you'll rest assured it is within spec, or they would not return it to you.

That is not how CRK assembles a Sebenza. The correct way is to put together the handles and then slide the blade\washers\bushing into place. There is zero chance of wrong assembly when using the proper method.

I have never encountered a situation on a regular\classic\21 that requires both wrenches, either. The only reason I could see for that is if loctite was used, and loctite should never be needed on any sebenza but the 25.

Thanks. I got it to work.

Define "work" :) - how's the lockup and the pivot action?

90% from the factory is more than the CRK target range and if reassembly didn't fix it, it probably should go back. Ditto on the pivot tension. Is it back within expected ranges now?

It is smooth when I tighten down the pivot.
The lockup is the same exact way I first got it, 90% ish (see picture). So which one is it? 90% is normal or too much?

Though likely within spec, considering no issues with blade play or sticky lockup, I personally would want a bit earlier lockup.

Upon reassembly, did you try rotating the stop pin? The lockup on my large 21 sat at about 70%, which is well within tolerance, but I prefer a hair earlier. I rotated the stop pin a bit, and the lockup now sits comfortably at 50-60%. Try rotating in increments of 45 or 90 degrees to see if that helps.

My recollection is that CRK thinks 70% lockup is the far end of the range. I'd give them a call and ask. 90% sounds quite deep to me. Not a problem, but not normal.
