I have to give it a good stropping ? Thanks again

They come hair shaving sharp. Mine sliced through phone book paper like butter. Its the sharpest out-of-box knife Ive ever received! But I got it sharper on my edge pro

Got my para2 today i know now why they are a
Must have ! & it came sharp out of the box but
I'll have to get use to opening and closing it !
Its way different then my ZT 0350 now its a
Waiting game cuz the wife took it away til
Christmas so T-minus 20 days,2 hours,15
Minutes and 45 seconds ! Lol

Well after some unfortunate things came up with my wife's pregnancy (preterm labor at 33 weeks
And will be in the.hospital til delivery) i got to get
My PM2 early and started using/playing with it
Saturday as i stayed overnight with my wife ! I am
Impressed so far it came super sharp and is easy
To open and my wife likes it as well so thats a big
Plus in my book ! The only thing keeping it from
Be 100% perfect for me is the pocket clip its too
Shiny and it needs to be black for my work as they
Tolerate us having pocket knives as long as they
Or the clients cant see them ! So i need to find a
Solution to that either a new pocket clip or some
Kind of coating i can put on it of some kind !
Until then its only 90% perfect ...

Call or email spyderco's customer service, I'd be willing to bet that they could set you up with a black clip. It might cost you a couple bucks but I wouldn't think sending you a clip would be a big deal.

Glad you're enjoying the PM2, I'm still waiting on my first, the blue M390 version.
Hope everything goes well with the wife.
Thanks i too think ill pick up the M390
And thanks again tomorrow will be 34
Weeks which were told is a milestone
As now there lungs are fully developed
So thats good !

Welcome to the PM2 club! It likely won't be your last PM2! :) Also congrats on the pending fatherhood! I have this humorous image of you sitting in the hospital room with oh-so your pregnant wife sleeping in the bed and you playing with your shiny new PM2, flicking it open and closed and trying to be quiet so as not to wake here (I laugh only because I could totally see myself in the same scenario).

As for the clip... another option might be to get the STR lowrider clip... especially if ultimate concealment is required for your work. Here's a couple pics of my 3 PM2s with the lowrider... and of how it rides in the front pocket of a pair of Levi 501s.

Jon1all,

Thats exactly what i do ! Lol from about
Midnight on ! I have seen STR's work so
I may go that route thanks for the pics !

Ive been using my PM2 for a few weeks now
And yesterday it got its most use yet as i had
To open and assemble all the kids new toys !
This thing sliced threw cardboard and plastic
Zip ties like a laser ! It was great i know i'll be
Using it for all my slicing needs !...

Alternately, you can heat the clip over flame until red orange, it will darken the color. There're many youtube videos showing how to do that.

Sand the clip with high grit sandpaper (1000 or above), wash & clean up. Then burn it (I use gas stove). Let it cool down by air, when not glowing anymore, dip it into water.

Same thing with the screw heads.

Did the same with my Resilience, but didn't take photo.

And ... Congrats to upcoming fatherhood!

Chris,
Thanks for the how-to I will try on a old clip I have
To see if I can get it right... questions: do I use the
open flame burnner or the oven ? In general how
Long does the entire process take ? And thanks
these are kids 3 and 4 !i have a 5 and 1 year old
At home the twins are still in the nicu til hopefully
Tuesday !

I used open flame and hold the item with needlenose plier. Didn't measure the time, just trying to get the whole clip turned to orange red glow at least once. If possible to get full item glowing the same at same time, it's better I guess, but my stove not big enough for that, I had to do it in sections.
