Fellow Sebenzanistas,

As some of you may be aware, I have been trying to sell the sole Sebenza remaining in my collection (it's also the only knife I have left!) in order to help pay some medical bills that have come up. For whatever reason, it's been sitting on the for sale forums for about 2 weeks now. The longer it goes unsold, the less I want to sell it.

See, the thing is - I owned a small Sebenza once before, and sold it since I was convinced I could find another knife out there that would be as good as the small Sebenza at less cost. How wrong I was! I tried out many a small knife for about a year, but none seemed to be as perfect a fit as the small Sebenza. So of course I was very happy when I came into a small decorated Sebenza several months ago.

The final piece of information before I present the question: after reviewing my family's finances, I see that it is not absolutely necessary that I sell the Sebenza. It would be the quickest solution, but not the only solution.

With all that in mind, here's where I need some advice - should I:

  1. Pull the small decorated Sebenza off the market?
  2. Trade the Sebenza for a plain Sebenza + cash?
  3. Sell the Sebenza and get the second best knife?
    [/list=1]

Thanks for any and all advice,

    Matthew

Hey Matthew,

Ya gotta take care of the family first! But it sounds like you have other options to selling your favorite knife. And it sounds like you would have to take less than it is worth. So....don't do it man! Try selling your body first;) All kidding aside you and yours are in my prayers, let us know how it goes.

Matthew,
If you can afford to keep it then do, you obviously really like the knife and if you sell it now you'll just end up buying another later, and in the long run lose even more. I've been into watches for years, and have bought the same watch 3 or 4 times thinking I could live without it and lost money everytime. When you find something that really works for you and makes you smile stick with it. Hope things work out for you either way, good luck!

Thanks for the words, guys :)

I think I'm going to pursue option #2 for now - that way I can still have the Sebenza, and still pull a little cash out for the bills.

Besides that, not owning a small Sebenza will ultimately prove to be more expensive than keeping it ;)

Thanks again,

Matthew
