Okay - I really like the look and feel of these types of knives.

About 8 inches overall.
About a four inch blade.
Drop Point.
Full Tang
Hole for Fob would be nice.
Around 70 - 100 bucks would be nice - less is better! ;)

Here are some I am looking at - what are your thoughts and do you have any more suggestions that fit this basic (be creative - but if you can - stick to the basic criterion).

Although this is a straight blade - you get the point:

EDIT:

Looks like a RAT RC-3 would fit the bill as well:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Of the three you posted, I like the benchmade the best. Not sure how much you are hung up on the handle or handle materials. Some other knives to consider in the same price range:

Fallkniven F1 (considered an almost perfect bush blade at 3.8").

Rat cutlery RC-3 or RC-4 depending on thickness you want and if you like a coated blade.

Ranger knives: RD-4 (very thick but can be customized by contacting the maker - with or without coated blade, and ground thinner)

Bark River - Fox River or Northstar (getting outside of your price range but basic black or green mircata can be had for in the $120-$140 range)

There are of course many other excellent quality knives within your specs. I think you will find the above manufacturers to be considered 'top shelf' in this sub-forum.

Here is my RC-4 stripped of its coating... (Sorry for the rest of the viewers who are tired of seeing this shot).

I think you will not be disapointed in a RC4 from RAT, or a RD4 in satin drop point from ranger knives. Check Bark River out too, They can be had for right around your budget and are hard to beat.

Shoot me and e-mail and I will make you one to your liking.
or call me.
It looks like what you are interested would cost less than a $100.00.

Sicily does some really great looking work! Check out the Breeden Knives post in this sub-forum by Bearthedog for pictures of Sicily's work.

hello,
Check out David Farmer:

http://dfarmerknives.com/My_Work__EDC_and_large_.html

I have been using his knives for EDC and bushcraft all winter.
All the wood stove and fire chores, kitchen work, whitling and carving, defensive bladecraft and all the other mundane daily knife chores. I am very pleased. You sure can't beat his prices. As far as I know he has one bushcraft knife available right now for about $65 including a nice leather pouch sheath.
give 'em a try, you'll love his full convex grind!
be safe... Ted

I briefly got to look at the new browning 525 today.
Sweet looking little knife, very bushcraft-y.

The website picture doesn't do it justice. i almost impulse bought it.
Its only 440A though. And the price here was 129$ Canadian. So i figured i'd research it first.

Seems like the ideal size and the fit and finish was good. The price and the steel type made me think twice though.

Anybody here own one or have any experience with one?

+1 for Breeden knives, me and him are working out an order right now, he's a great guy to work with! :D
