Advice on a knife for Dad

If he isn't oogling over a knife brand then I'd say get him an RC-3. It cuts the best of them all and he will appreciate how sharp it is. Plus he doesn't sound like the I need a big honking knife kind of guy. Otherwise, he'd have one already. Go with the RC-3. A military man will recognize it as a capable cutter and for fishing chores it is one of the better ones available in the rat line.

The Izula is great, but for somebody not accustomed to skeletal knives he might draw the wrong impressions of it.
