Hello Everyone,

I’m new to the forum and need your help tracking down an old knife I use to own. It was stolen from my home years ago and ever since then I have missed it. It’s very old but I’m hoping one of you might have some good ideas of where I can find one. The knife is a butterfly or balisong and is all stainless steel including the handle. It was made by a company called Valor and had the word “CHO” on the blade itself. I think I bought mine in 1988 so it’s pretty old. Any advice would be appreciated thank you.

Welcome to Bladeforums.

There's one of those for sale right now from a well-known online consignment shop, but it ain't cheap. Just do a Google search for "valor butterfly knife cho", and it should be the first result. I'm not mentioning the name of the site because the vendor is not a paying sponsor of this forum, and naming them in response to an inquiry to buy something could be considered "deal spotting", which is against the rules here.

Are you sure the handles are stainless steel? The box says "die cast metal". Same as the one I found. Of course stainless steel can be die cast.

I'm not actually sure if it is stainless but that picture is accurate, that is the one I had. I did that quick search and found one listed but it said sold out. I will keep looking and if any of you see one please let me know. Thank you!

The one I mentioned, and posted a picture of, is still available (I even added it to my cart just to be sure. then removed it). Maybe you're getting different search results than I'm getting. You could also do a Google image search of the picture I posted (right click on the pic, then click "Search with Google lens").

That's all the help I have to offer. Good luck.
