Advice on Fixed Blades under 5.5"

My favorite small fixed blade is the Gryphon M 10. It has a 4 inch blade with a kydex sheath. Super fast to deploy and very solid made knife. I got it at the Cutlery Shoppe for about $150.

I'll echo the recommendations of knives from Bob Dozier, Jerry Busse & Newt Livesay. All three make awesome knives, and are great values. If you are planning on using the knife for any hunting related purposes my preference would be Dozier.

You can't go wrong with any of the three.

I have knives from Busse, Livesay and Dozier and the last is by far my favorite.

The D2 he uses is regarded semi stainless and as I wear it in a neck holster every day -and I sweat quite a lot - it never showed any signs of rust

For hunting - the Dozier seem to be the best choice, but you wont go wrong with any of them

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and the education.

I have finally settled on a custom from Bob Dozier. This will be my first custom! I decided to go that route because none of the production models, or even standard custom models, are quite what I want. This way I should end up with a knife that really will make me happy instead of one that would always be almost what I wanted.

The adventure begins...
