I have made about 50 knives so far but never made a D-Guard. I am about to start a Texas style Bowie with a D guard. After doing some searching, I have not found much advice on this topic and would appreciate any tips. Attaching the guard to the butt end has me puzzled. Do I simply thread the tang and attach the guard with a threaded butt cap ? Thanks in advance for any advice on D guards and for all prior advice on other topics.
