Advice on making intricate knife handles with multiple spacers and bolsters

They sell it as a handle material and I tried it that way many years ago. Not durable enough for my knives as an entire handle. However seems to be working very well as a spacer. Course than you are not drilling holes in it, or banging it around and its supported by the bolster and the handle material as well as the colored spacers, so its pretty protected. The red is jasper. I buy the single slab that is a 1/4" thick.
