Advice on R. W. Loveless

I'm nobody, but even on the first picture, it just didn't have a detailed, finished look.
It was missing style, panache, and Soul........... Fake!

That is a handsome knife. Is yours AUS-8? I'm seeing conflicting info from dealers (some say AUS-6, 8, or just "stainless").

I can't remember exactly where I bought it, but I do recall that the retailer's information stated it was AUS-8. Unfortunately the knife itself doesn't indicate the steel anywhere on it.

For future reference, a few Loveless knives can be found around/below $5,000. Nothing that's an authentic Loveless can be found for $290.
I wonder how many genuine Loveless knives come on the market from someone other than a known established collector or a known established retailer. I think it is much like buying an expensive Rolex- be very suspicious of the seller.

i just went to the loveless web site they are a little out of my price range they sure are nice
Bob Loveless died in 2010, and his longtime partner Jim Merritt died in 2018. That's one reason the vintage knives are so expensive--they're no longer made. I don't recall who is running the "new" shop and related website; pretty knives, but I would not pay vintage prices for them.

There is no "Loveless shop" anymore. It ended with Jim.

We do love pictures!
I bought this in 2004. It's barely been out of the box. Invoice says it's AUS-8.
If I recall correctly, Bob Loveless was real happy with how these turned out.
