HI,
I'd like to post an item to sell in gadgets and gear. Not sure on protocol.

I post. Await receipt of funds in pay pal and then send item. That's it? Buyers are OK w that system?

Thx,
rick

Be aware that you are responsible to get the item to the buyer, so package it well, and depending on the cost you may want to get a signature-it helps a lot if USPS says they delivered it, but buyer disputes that.
good luck on your sale

Plus, I will only do business with paid forum members that don’t have any negative feedback. Good luck with your sale!

Do a quick browse here in "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" to check anyone you're dealing with- Both Buyers and Sellers.

Ship upon Payment. Ship to the Buyers Confirmed Address in PayPal. Include a Tracking Number + Send it to the Buyer.

I confirm receipt of Payment and inform the Buyer when I've shipped the item. I ask them to let me know when the item arrives and that it meets their expectations.

Don't spend the payment until you're sure the item has arrived and the transaction is completed.

Rinse and repeat.

Shameless post hopping :

I have never conducted any knife sale online, but keep on thinking about it. The information in this thread is very precious to me.

I am also not familiar with Paypal and the common procedure. What info do you usually need to send money through PP ? Is an email enough or do you need a specific ID ?

All you need to do is sign up for a PayPal account using an valid email address. I used my personal account. For your protection and the buyers use what is recommended by the Forum for transferring money and that’s the Goods and services option rather then the Friends and Family option. Keep in mind that PayPal isn’t free. There is I believe a 3% transaction fee, so figure that in to the cost along with shipping fees. I also highly recommend purchasing a paid forum membership. They start at $10 for a year and allow you to develop a buy/selling profile and the ability to send private messages on the forum. If I’m missing anything I’m sure other members will chime in. :)
