Advice on ugly custom order...

Different strokes for different folks i will make almost anything the customer wants after all it is a custom design not something you as a maker designed and put up for sale.

Here I'm back from the concert in Izmir, it was real fun -John Lee Hooker Jr., Sharrie Williams and Watermelon Slim have been there. I'm really tired of dancing and drinking :D:cool:..

Thanks guys, I'll be on my way to shop tomorrow sanding those fullers and making them as symmetrical as I can do. I agree your point of the custom business, it has to please the customer not me, I get it, however it is real hard to swallow to make a knife that is not aesthetic for you. I always take my time to make it perfect, those fullers were carved with a jig I made but there are some scratches those are real deep, sanding would take ages to remove them, I dont have a mill and I try not to outsource the work as I market my knives totally made by me, so I bought a diamond dremel bit, its diameter matches the fullers' diameter and I file these fullers by hand with that bit. It is removing steel very quick and it is really simple to keep these fullers even by hand and a diamond bit .

I'll be going to customer with my handle material samples. I have received the package from Sweden, now I have stabilized burls, antlers, G10, linen and paper micartas. I'll charge my final price after he selects the handle material.

He also ordered 3 sheaths for his knives and my carving tools, rivets, snaps, stains etc has recently arrived. I'll have a really busy week...

Thanks everybody, your points are really well said. I have to get used to this...
