Recommendation? Advice on wavy edge...

Thanks for the compliment!

I have a dremel, but all my stones are 1/4" or bigger diameter. Next time at the local wallet vacuum, I'll pick up one of the 1/8" or 5/32" stones. Good idea, thanks.
Use that small round diamond bits that came with dremel....they are just right for that ;)
This is HSS steel blade , sharpening choil are cut with them

What sort of wood is that?

Can you tell us a bit about the blade design? What sort of work do you have in mind for this knife?

I relatively sure that the wood is some sort of maple...it was from off-cut scrap I keep in bucket.

The blade design came from my recollection of a Myerchin I had years ago as a young sailor, but I made the edge straighter than the original, omitted the lanyard hole, and didn't bother with the "shackle key" notch.

Honestly, this was mostly a "practice all the techniques" and "make all the mistakes" type of first knife-making project. What I actually plan on using it for is general utility camping knife work...food prep, line cutting, whittling tinder, etc.
