Double cut is just more polished then single cut. But if you order on Busse site you will have to wait few months easy. But if you buy from BusseCompany Store - link I provided, you will get it in few days.

Those are Russian knives - they have better cutting stainless steel and much lighter with exceptional ergonomic, but in Russian outdoor culture hatchet is used for chopping so knives not as heavy and thick as something like Busse.

If you want a really tough knife, RAT Cutlery will be releasing the RC-5 SERE in a few weeks. Its a quarter-inch thick slab of 1095 carbon steel, so its made for hard use.

Even if it has some practical application problems as some other posters might suggest, so what? I don't see that issue as even being relevant. YOU designed it for YOURSELF!
