Hi, all. I'm looking for a small, light, user blade that will fit nicely in the 5th pocket in jeans (the small pocket in front). Any recommendations?

I've found a sodbuster JR. works quite well for that role; no clip needed and it is easy to slip into the pocket as well as retrieve...

A small Sodbuster is exactly what came to mind for me too. Handy and rugged and made by everyone from Boker and Case to GEC and some nice looking imports by Kissing Crane and others. They are primarily and originally slipjoints but locking models can be had as well. Definately a good user.

Any of kershaws small flippers the leek, chive, scallion, ans many others...

Alot of the smaller traditional knives would fit the bill.

I like the smaller swaybacks, and the Case mini Copperlock.

Any mid to small size Swiss army knive. I carry a Victorinox executive in the 5th pocket when I have jeans.
Case peanut is a good one.
Kershaw OD-2 is a decent small flipper.
Kershaw has many small flippers.
Spyderco bug series or the kiwi would be a nice fit.
CRKT Pazoda 2
Gerber E.A.B. nice little folding utility blade. takes the trapezoid shaped razers.
Buck has some good slipjoints that would fit your bill too I think.
A lot of the traditional folders will make a good 5th pocket knife really. these are the best small folders I've come across so far tho. I love the small knives.

Knives that I carry on the 5th pocket:

BM Mini Grip, BM 707
Spyderco Techno

A Kershaw Chill fits nicely clipped inside my 5th pocket. Only $18 and a pretty nice knife at that.

BM 707 is perfect. Tiny knife, but packs a surprising bit of blade when you open it.

You guys must have huge fifth pockets. There's no way I could fit a Leek, 707, Mini Grip, e.t.c. in mine.
I'll suggest the Boker Subcom.

Another suggestion for the 707, fits perfectly and is one hell of a nice knife

There are a bunch of great Kershaw blades that will fit.

It also depends on the jeans your wearing, some have deeper 5th pockets than others.

My Carhart cargo pants have a pretty deep 5th pocket.

Some other good 5th pocket EDC.....

SOG FLASH I
SOG BLUTO
Meyerco Dirk Pinkerton
Meyerco Tactical Folder
Benchmade Mini Grip
Benchmade Stryker

Some of my medium sized blades will stick out of the pocket slightly but they never interfere with my belt or when sitting down.

First see what length you can fit in your 5th pocket and then go from there.

Levi's slim 521, 514 I believe. Skinny jeans and I have no issues. It depends on the design I guess.
