got my kiln as my first big buy along with LN dewer and al plates
lucky for me the local tool and die Co are great people and rc test blades when im tuning a HT (liek to note here RC is only part of the tell cause therea re many ways to get to a hardness )
i have at times HTed for other makers a blade or 2 (they had an order for a steel they had not used but i have made a bunch of )
my kiln is over 10 years old and still running like a champ all i have replaced is the temp probe (even have a backup coil jsut in case that i still have not needed.
im debating buying a longer kiln and offsettign some of the cost by letter the ol even heat go
i have made a few pocket knives and while a surface grinder woudl be nice and likly help at a few points grinding service to flatten all blanks to a set thicknedd wouel be where i outsorced work
