• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

These are not exactly knives but they are edged cutting tools. I have a buddy who is a carpenter/cabinetmaker who is looking for a source for these tools for woodworking. Can anybody help?

i've seen several woodworking catalogs that list them, but only one I can remember offhand is The Japan Woodworker, which is a great catalog for hand tools, especially high end japanese tools

Lee Valley Tools has a very nice selection including an Austrian sculptor's adze, as well as one by Iltis, a carpenter's hand adze, hand scoop adze, froes plus drawknives, Gransfors axes, chisels, and darn near everything ever made for shaping wood from toothpicks to log cabins. I forget what their URL is -- do a search and it'll turn up. Their catalogue alone is work of art and worth ordering. And the prices are in the Canadian peso, currently around 65 cents US, so you're getting a bargain.
