I have been using AEB-L for fixed blades for about 8 months and the steel is performing within expectations. It holds a decent edge and is easy to resharpen. I decided to make a folder for myself with the steel and i have noticed after a couple of months of heavy use that the detent ball is wearing a significant track in the blade. The blade tests right at 60RC. The spring is no heavier than on other folders i have made with 154CM and D2 and have not seen any noticeable wear with either of those steels.
I realize that AEB-L does not have much wear resistance, but this surprised me. I am curious if anyone else has found this issue.
