AEB-L Kamisori Style Kitchen Utilities - 3/8 Update with Pics!

Thanks for the WIP pics, Daniel. Looks great!

Much appreciated! Nice looking avatar by the way!

That is looking sweet!

Thanks for the kind words Justin. I'm really excited about these!

As a side note the Blackwood is what some Claves, drum set wood blocks and Xylophone keys are made from... Clarinets too. It is unique material and interesting to work with. The structure is so dense and solid that big spirals of wood come perfectly solid out of the drill bit as if it were steel. I used a new 36 belt for fitting everything up and it is already toast! I hear Blackwood will tap well and hold a thread, I believe it!

Boy Daniel you do some fine work! Thanks for putting up the WIP pics, it really shows what goes into something that looks so simple.

Thanks! :D

I want to set up a camera in the shop and film the making of a Framelock over 3-4 days... speed it up so everything is recorded.

One pic I missed is the dowel fitting... a 3/8 dowel runs through everything. I cut a wedge into the dowel to fit the tang. The fit is nice and solid even with no epoxy yet.

I'll epoxy the handle together today, shape it later then the knife gets glued into the tang after that. Some use friction or beeswax for the tang fitting but I like the idea of using epoxy.

Damm, Daniel those are just slicker than you-know-what! Since it looks like these are spoken for what do I have to do to get in line for another one? And approx. wait time?

Hi! Thanks too!

Just let me know and one of these is yours, a spot popped up. I'm expecting to have the two completed in roughly a week.
