Hello,

As recently I got a nice amount of AEB-L stock in 3mm 320x1000mm pieces...
I was thinking about for what else knives I can use it besides of kitchen.

Question to Knifemakers who work in this steel for some time and users.

This steel will be good for my Tengu / Gremlin / Garmr knives?

If yes, the next bath of knives will be from 2,5mm Elmax and 3mm AEB-L :D

But maybe also for toher types of knives this steel will be good ?

Best Regards,
Konrad

I use it at 62Rc and think it is a very good steel for knives. Everything from hunters to paring knives.

Konrad, Voestalpine Strip is now rolling AEB-L in thickness up to 4.5 to 5mm range at their new Austrian plant, so it you end up liking the stuff, you have a lot moe options now.

I use it for all of my knives and it seems to perform well. Let me know if you'd like to see any pics of them to help you out.

I was thinking about to use this steel ( as I have 10piece 320x1000mm 3mm thick) for more of my blades.
In the same level as N690.

Now maybe I will make some Garmr, Gremlin, Tengu and Hydra :)

Couple of Santoku knives from AEB-L also in the way :)
