Review AEB-L versus A2

They're STILLLL there??? I remember that discussion from way back early to mid-2016 and once in a while I wonder whatever happened to those blades but always forgot to ask. That's pretty cool

You're doing it all wrong......for example:

Is that a tapered tang scandi grind Lonestar? Think it would clean up?

So I got some more time with the Osage Bushcraft Tasker in AEB-L this weekend, and I continue to like this steel and this model. I was just messing around with a one-inch diameter stick: removing the bark, trimming down any high points and smoothing up the surface. The blade really grabbed into the bark and quickly cut off long strips of it.

After the bark was off, I noticed a small hole created by an insect. It was easy to use the knife tip to clean that out, enlarge it a little, and bevel the edges. This wasn't so much about the performance of the steel or durability of the tip as it was the ease of handling the knife while doing something awkward. The size of the knife, its shape and balance all seemed just right for this kind of work.

At the end of the session, I realized that I never noticed the Bushcraft Tasker's handle. That is to say it never got my attention as something that was cumbersome in any hold, that I had to adjust for, or that I had to work around to achieve a task. What ever I was doing with the wood, I was able to hold the knife in a way that felt very natural without any effort or even conscious thought to make it so.

The AEB-L continued to hold up perfectly, and no orange stains on my hand this time.
