Please note that I’ve also reduced prices on the remaining knives in Part 1 (further reductions) and Part 2, so please take a look at those!
7/28/18 Final Update: It's a wrap! Please see Part 7 (Donations Made!) here: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/afaustin’s-6th-annual-going-to-the-dogs-sale-part-7-donations-made.1600339/#post-18276454
Everything’s the same as stated in Part 1, including that 100% of the proceeds will go to the pups, but I’m offering up a new bunch of knives here in Part 3.
For convenience sake, let me repeat the ground rules:
Details:
Prices include shipping, USPS 1st Class, w/ Delivery Confirmation. PayPal or m.o. only. I'll cover the PayPal fees, so go ahead and list it as a sale of goods, not a gift. (If you want insurance, let me know and I will figure your cost. Otherwise, I will not be responsible for items lost or damaged in the mail.)
Please understand that I have the right to sell or not sell to whomever I choose.
1st unconditional "I'll take it", followed up with prompt payment. For PayPal info. or questions, please e-mail me at: aforsythe4 (at) austin (dot) rr (dot) com
Once we have a deal, please post "I’ll take it" in this sales thread (if you haven’t already). The new BF software requires that in order for us to exchange feedback, which I think is important.
By buying these knives you are stating that you are at least 18 years of age, and otherwise in compliance with all applicable laws regarding them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
International Sales Policies:
1) I fill out the Customs forms accurately, and so I will list this as a sale/commercial transaction, not as a gift.
2) You assume responsibility for any mishaps with Customs or shipping.
3) We will agree on the manner and additional cost of shipping before finalizing the deal. Also, PayPal charges a higher fee on international sales, so I will approximate that and add it to your total.
Now without further ado, let’s get on to the third batch of knives!
Thanks for helping the pups!
Andrew
I’m going to begin Part 3 of this sale with some contributions from my friend, Ron (BF screen name: rdave). As mentioned in Part 1, Ron has been a great supporter of this sale, and he has continued that by sending me some very nice and fun items to sell as part of this effort. Ron and his wife are also long time dog people and have given a happy home to many rescues over the years. The first 5 items (plus bonus knife) numbered below are part of his contribution. Thanks, Ron!
1) GEC #715118 Bullnose in red linen micarta. 1095 carbon steel. Like new and unused. Strong pull, maybe 7-8, but not a nail breaker. Handsome knife.
Includes tube & wax paper.$55.00 $49.00 SOLD
2) Winchester Black Box #3949 Sowbelly Stockman. 3 3/4 closed. New and unused with factory edges. Moderate pulls (5-6?) and good snap on all 3 blades. Beautiful mirror polish on blades. Exceptional bone. Tang stamp is "3949" and "‘89". Just a beautiful knife.
I don’t know a lot about Winchester Black Box knives, but I believe the blade steel was usually, or maybe always, 1095 (carbon). So that’s a good guess as to this one, but no guarantees. There’s a great (28 page!) thread on Winchester BBs here: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/black-box-winchesters.562111/
Includes original box. $65.00 SOLD
3) Case Trapper #6254 in dark blue jigged bone. Stainless blades. This is the full size (4 1/8" closed) version. This knife was well used and well loved. I gave it a mini spa: satinized the blades to minimize the scratches; washed and polished; sharpened the blades to nice edges. It still bears its battle scars (which don’t show up in the pics) but is a solid knife and will make a fine user.
No box. $32.00 SOLD
4) Case Canoe #62131 in dark gray jigged bone. Stainless blades. This knife was likewise well used and well loved. It has a hairline crack from the mark side middle pin to the liner but you have to look for it. I gave it the same mini spa: satinized the blades to minimize the scratches; washed and polished; sharpened the blades to nice edges. And it likewise still bears its battle scars (which don’t show up in the pics) but will make a fine user.
No box.$29.00 $26.00 SOLD
5) Victorinox Huntsman in red cellidor. Plenty of scuff marks on the cellidor (which don’t show up in the pics) but the tools are complete (including tweezers & toothpick) and function fine.
Includes free bonus: Sears multi-tool knife. Made in China. I didn’t open all the tools on this one, a few of which are stiff, but they include: large blade; scissors; can opener/small flathead; can opener/large flathead (I think—couldn’t open it); compass (not sure it’s accurate); red led flashlight; corkscrew; awl; file/small flathead (insert); micro Phillips screwdriver (insert).
Includes boxes (worn). $13.00 SOLD
