This is Part 2 of my 7th Annual "Going to the Dogs" Sale.

Part 1, which gives all the background on this benefit sale, is here:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...edicated-to-boy-part-1.1667277/#post-19070227

Please note that I’ve also reduced prices on the remaining knives in Part 1, so please take a look at those!

Everything is the same as in Part 1, including that 100% of the proceeds will go to the pups, but I’m offering up a new bunch of knives here in Part 2.

6/25/19 Update: I've added a couple of nice small Spydies (Foliage Green G-10) to the sale, listed over in the Modern Folders subforum:

Once we have a deal, please post an "I’ll take it" in this sales thread, since that’s required for us both to leave feedback.

International Sales Policies:

I like the international character of BF and so I’m usually willing to jump through the extra hoops to do international sales. Unfortunately, I’m a little more pressed for time this year due to some medical issues at my house, so I’m going to have to make it U.S.A. only for this sale.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now without further ado, let’s get on to the second batch of knives!
Thanks for helping the pups!
Andrew
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The first two knives are part of a very generous donation from a good friend, BF member, and long time supporter of this sale. He is a first class “knife man” and a first class “dog man” who resides in the great state of Arizona and has asked to remain anonymous.

1) GEC #152118B&C Boys Knife in Gabon Ebony with Bail & Chain. Credit for the donation of this beauty goes not only to my unnamed friend but also to another great knife man with a kind heart, Gary Norton, who some of you in the knife world may’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. Thanks to them both.

Appears unused and unsharpened. Perfect medium pull with half stops. Beautiful Gabon ebony. A great example of this pattern.

Includes tube & wax paper. $88.00 $83.00 $79.00 WITHDRAWN and re-posted in Part 5: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/afaustin’s-7th-annual-going-to-the-dogs-sale-part-5.1672888/

SOLD in Part 6: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/afaustin’s-7th-annual-going-to-the-dogs-sale-part-6.1675517/

2) Winchester Black Box Small Gunstock Jack #2851 (‘88). Appears unused and unsharpened, with one small mark on clip blade towards tip. 3 1/16" closed. My recollection is that the blade steel on most BB Winchesters is D2 but I’m not certain on that. Beautiful bone, darker on pile side. Pulls are medium strong (the pen a little stronger than the main) but very manageable. Lovely little knife.

Includes box (which has a few wear spots). $45.00 SOLD

This next knife was donated by a BF member from Illinois who is a generous supporter of this sale and a great dog man (and who has asked to remain anonymous). Many thanks to him.

3) J.A. Henckels Stockman #HK-3-FLIV in Light Brown Pick Bone. 4" closed. Stainless blades. Made in Germany. The generous donor tells me these were contract made by Boker from 1991 to 2007. Appears unused and unsharpened, with a small blade rap midway between the tip and the nail nick on the main that will likely be resolved with the first sharpening. Nice medium pulls. Pretty bone and a comfortable feel in hand.

Includes box (not the original). $45.00 SOLD

The next two knives are special in that they are part of a donation by a great guy and friend of mine in North Carolina who has been a faithful supporter of this sale. He’s a long time knife man and friend of the pups, and proud owner of a handsome rescue dog. He’s asked to remain anonymous, but as always he has my sincere thanks for his generosity.

4) Otter-Messer Small Anchor Knife with dark wood covers.
Carbon steel blade. 3 ½" closed. Made in Solingen, Germany. Small gap at point of anchor where it’s inlayed into cover. Appears unused and unsharpened with nice factory grinds and edge. Pleasant medium pull and a handsome knife.

No box. $50.00 $45.00 $39.00 SOLD in Part 5: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...o-the-dogs-sale-part-5.1672888/#post-19132236

5) Case Trapper in yellow delrin.
Stainless blades. This is the full size (4 1/8" closed) version. Unused and uncarried with factory edges. A classic.

Includes box (Case box but not correct one for this knife) & paperwork. $35.00 $33.00 $29.00 SOLD in Part 5:

6) GEC Northfield #74 Saddle Trapper Single Blade (glennbad mod) in Coffeehouse Acrylic. I loved the shape and beautiful Coffeehouse covers on my #74, but wanted a sleeker single clip blade version, so glennbad performed his magic and made it happen. Lightly used and sharpened to a nice edge. Beautiful patina, if I do say so myself, induced with I don’t recall what (lemon juice? vinegar?). Wide thin blade and a terrific slicer.

Here’s the thread where the mod was discussed: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...stion-dedicated-slicer.1336330/#post-15349089 (And see Post #13 with some great “Before” and “After” pics Glenn put up.)

Includes tube & wax paper. $150.00 SOLD

7) Case Mini Moose #62032 in Red Sawcut Bone. Stainless blades.
3 5/8" closed. Originally had a small spot on the edge of the clip blade from blade rap (where the blade hits the back spring when closed with enthusiasm), so I inserted a tiny piece of cork in the well under the tang to remedy that. Sharpened to nice edges (which may’ve taken care of the blade rap, but I’ll leave the cork in place to be on the safe side). Minor blade rubs and very lightly used.

When I first got this knife in, I did a little review: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/a-small-moose-is-loose-case-mini-moose-mini-review.1466171/

Includes box & paperwork. WITHDRAWN

8) Case Single Blade Peanut #6120 in Orange Jigged Bone. Stainless blades. Not too many single blade Peanuts around (that I’ve seen at least). Originally had a small spot on the edge from blade rap (where the blade hits the back spring when closed with enthusiasm), so I inserted a tiny piece of cork in the well under the tang to remedy that. Sharpened down to a little straighter profile (which probably took care of the blade rap), with a needle point and a nice edge.

No box. $40.00 $37.00

9) Parker Cut. Co. Eagle Brand Lockback in Smooth Bone. 3 9/16" closed. Stainless blade. Solid lock up. Sharpened to a nice edge and very lightly used. Nice sized sweeping blade with needle point. Attractive vintage knife. Made in Japan.

No box. $35.00 SOLD

10) Laguiole en Aubrac Randonneur Hiker/Backpacker’s Knife. 4 3/4" closed. 12c27 stainless. Lightly used condition with some minor blade scratches. I’ve sharpened it and it took a beautiful edge. I’ve always loved 12c27 for its ease of sharpening and the very fine edge it takes. This is a great slicer and a champ in the kitchen!

The gent I bought it from described it as having olive wood covers, but I think they may be juniper as they look just like the juniper model on the manufacturer’s website: http://www.laguiole-en-aubrac.fr/en/our-products/collections-en/randonneur-hiker In any event, they are very attractive.

This style of French knife has a tendency to ding the edge on the inside of the spring (blade rap) when closed hard, so best advice is to be more gentle when closing. I was careless one time and sure enough, it got a tiny flat spot just down from the tip. I sharpened it back up and it’s good to go now, but I recommend an easy close.

No box. $45.00 $41.00 SOLD

I will take #6, the GEC #74 with the glennbad mod. Beautiful knife, and really appreciate your cause as I also have a rescue dog that has changed our family's life in so many great ways. And I'm so sorry about the loss of your shepherd, Boy. As I am relatively new to the forum and have never bought from the exchange, let me know the best way to PP you the funds.
