This is Part 2 of the "moderns" portion of my annual sale benefiting the pups as described in the original sales thread here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...-(Knives-Added!) and the original "moderns" sales thread here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-Dogs”-Sale-(moderns)?p=15862057#post15862057

All proceeds from Part 2 will likewise go to the Highland Lakes SPCA (with the same dollar-for-dollar match :)).

Here in Part 2 are 4 more knives from Gundawg (John), whose generous gift of knives made up all of the original moderns sales thread. To those I've added 3 of my own knives.

So, with all that said, on to the knives!

Update 3/26/16: This thread is closed and "Part 3" is now open: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...Sale-(moderns)-Part-3?p=15915454#post15915454

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) Kershaw Swerve #3850BLK. I think the scales are glass filled nylon, but I’m not certain. Liner lock. 3Cr13 blade. 4 1/4" closed. Sharpened to a nice edge. Don’t know where made but I'm guessing China.
No box or sheath. $20.00
2) Kershaw Freefall #3840BLK. Glass filled black nylon scales. Liner lock. 8Cr13MoV black finished tanto blade. 4 1/4" closed. Appears to have factory edge which is well done. Made in China.
No box. $15.00
3) SOG Mini Aegis (At least I think that’s what this is, based on very faint lettering on the blade and comparing pics online). So if I’m right, these should be glass reinforced nylon scales; piston lock; AUS-8 blade. 4" closed. Appears to have factory edge which is well done. Assembled in U.S. (per manufacturer).
No box. $30.00
4) Buck 302 Solitaire. Rosewood dymondwood scales. 420HC stainless blade. 4" closed. Probably not the prettiest sharpening job, but very sharp. Made in U.S.A.
No box or sheath. $20.00
5) Ka-bar lockback #2799. Black Zytel scales. Don’t know the steel other than what’s on tang: "Stainless Hong Kong". 3 5/8" closed. Very light at 1.2 oz. It is sharpened to a nice edge. Cole National, Cleveland, Ohio, vintage. I read somewhere that this was Ka-bar's early prototype of a "modern" knife.
Locks up solid with no wobble or play. Grip is very comfortable due to the ramp for the forefinger right behind the choil. Long pull and half-stop. This is a pretty cool and handy little knife.
Includes original box and paperwork. $15.00
6) CRKT E-lock Starlight #7353. T6 aluminum scales with bead blast finish. AUS-8 partially serrated blade with bead blast finish. 4 1/4" closed. New & unused with factory edge. Made in Taiwan.
Includes box. $45.00
7) Enlan Bee L06-1. Red & black G10 scales. 8Cr13Mov blade. 4 5/16" closed. New & unused with factory edge. Made in China.
I am amazed at the build quality and F & F of this knife—a very solid, quality piece.
Includes box. $12.00
Can't tell from the pics, is the SOG Aegis the DLC coated blade or satin? Thanks!
I honestly don't know about the blade. As I mentioned in my original "moderns" sales thread, I'm a trads guy and am generally unfamiliar with blade coatings. The color is a light-to-medium gray, and looks different from both the satin and the black coated versions of the Mini Aegis I've seen online. It's AUS-8 stainless so no patina, and I guess it has some sort of coating, but I don't know what. If you can help me figure it out, please do!
Thanks,
Andrew
